Underwrite Staff and Client Funds
HighPointe manages two important funds that provide targeted support for staff and clients; the Foundation Fund and the Austin Ziel Scholarship Fund.
The HighPointe Services Foundation Fund raises unrestricted dollars from individuals, corporations, and foundations to bridge the gap between Medicaid and the real cost of care for people with disabilities. The annual fund must raise approximately 10 percent of the current operating budget to maintain the level of quality enrichment, education, and recreation programs.
Donations to the HighPointe Services Foundation Fund are vital to the future of HighPointe and the people we serve as they allow us to use your gift wherever the current need is greatest. This provides the ability to address immediate priorities and to bring direct benefits to children and adults in our care.
Austin Ziel Scholarship Fund
The Austin Ziel Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Austin, the inspiration for HighPointe Services, who passed away in 2014. Whereas the Foundation Fund support general programming, the Austin Ziel Scholarship Fund supports clients. The fund raises unrestricted dollars from individuals, corporations, and foundations to bridge the gap between Medicaid and the real cost of care for people with disabilities.
Donations to the Austin Ziel Scholarship Fund are vital to the future of HighPointe and the people we serve. Your donation allows us to use your gift wherever the client need is the greatest and provides HighPointe the ability to address immediate priorities and to bring direct benefits to the children and adults in our care.
Make a lasting impact on the life of a person with developmental disabilities in Colorado by making a legacy donation. There are many types of gifts you can give to HighPointe, each with its own benefit to the donor. Some of the most common forms of legacy donations include bequests, charitable gift annuities and charitable trusts. These donations can be funded with an appreciated asset, such as stocks/bonds, retirement assets, cash and insurance.
Employer Matching Gifts
Your donation can be increased or even doubled in two easy steps. Many employers will match an employee’s charitable donation, in many cases, dollar for dollar.
Contact your human resources office to learn if your company is eligible. HighPointe is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, an important qualification for many matching gift programs. If your company does match employee gifts, obtain the matching gift form from your employer and return the completed application to HighPointe. HighPointe accepts the following types of matching gifts:
- Cash Donations
- Auction Items – Purchases (in excess of fair-market value)
- Volunteer Hours
Please contact your company’s human resources department for your matching gift program guidelines.
The employer matching gift program can boost employee morale and build corporate image. Participating companies gain an opportunity to benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities.
Gifts in Kind
Gifts of equipment, supplies, or other personal property are greatly appreciated. Upon receipt, HighPointe may hold, use or sell the property and use the proceeds for our programs and services. You receive an immediate income tax deduction for the gift’s appraised value and pay no capital gains tax, provided that the donation meets the related use requirements of the Internal Revenue Service.
